Requiem was recorded on a 120 year-old church organ in Southern Africa. It is an expansive and meditative work that is masterfully performed by Franco Prinsloo. The subtleties of microtonal overtones produced on this particular instrument are explored in depth and at length. A hallucinatory organ fantasy, this evocative and minimalist piece exploits the instrument’s resonance until the human element is nullified.

Franco Prinsloo is an award winning composer and conductor from South Africa. He creates in a diverse variety of contemporary classical styles with a specific focus on choral music, vocal music and music for theatre and film.

Recorded using a stereo pair of Earthworks SR30 microphones & mastered in Tokyo, Japan.
